Delivering Animal Feed to 3 Locations in Kansas

Monday, August 21, 2017

Yesterday, we picked up a trailer in St. Joseph, Missouri that was loaded with animal feed. Today we’re delivering that animal feed to three locations in Kansas: Lansing, Topeka and Emporia.

There’s so much going on today that I’ve decided to break the day up into four videos to cover what happens at each stop while keeping the videos as bite-sized segments. There’s also a fifth video that explains what happens at the end of the day.

Cities and Towns Featured Along the Way:

  • Lansing, Kansas
  • Topeka, Kansas
  • Emporia, Kansas

Roads Travelled:

  • Interstate 70
  • Interstate 335

Today’s Videos

I hope you enjoy these videos; they were recorded in Hi Def, so I recommend watching them in full screen mode.

Delivery 1: Lansing

This video is part one and begins as I get into position to back into the loading dock. The receiving guys seem experienced at stopping traffic for this purpose…

Delivery 2: Topeka

This video is part two and begins after we’ve arrived at the Topeka delivery and backed up to the loading dock.

You’re going to see just how much of a challenge this place is to get into and out of with a big truck and 53′ trailer…

Delivery 3: Emporia

This video is part three and begins as we are arriving in Emporia. We’ve got to navigate through town to our destination, find the loading dock and back up to it.

Back to Topeka for the Next Load

This video is part four and begins as we are leaving Emporia to head back to Topeka for our next load, or so we thought…

Drop and Hook Fail at the Shipper in Topeka

There was a problem getting the load in Topeka! I’ll explain what happened as we ride out a thunderstorm at the end of a long day:

Next Video:

Headed to California; Topeka, Kansas to Limon, Colorado

After finally getting our load in Topeka the next day, we’re headed to southern California. We’ll make it as far as Limon, Colorado, which is about 90 minutes east of Denver.
