Scenic Sunday Drive – Walker Lake and Hawthorne, Nevada

Today we’re taking a drive along Walker Lake and through Hawthorne, Nevada. We’re also going to pass by parts of the Hawthorne Army Depot, the largest ammunition storage depot in the world.

[Each Sunday I plan to release a scenic drive from somewhere around the country for your viewing pleasure. I don’t plan to narrate these, although I may include some informational banners if appropriate. The point is to just enjoy the scenery.]

This map shows where in the USA Walker Lake and Hawthorne, Nevada are located:

This southbound drive on US Highway 95 starts about 50 miles south of Fallon, Nevada. Our drive today will cover about 25 miles.
