Better Safe Than Sorry During Winter Driving

Today’s Adventure

Yesterday’s Recap

Yesterday we were snowed in on an off-ramp in Utah; not fun!

Snowed In on Off Ramp

But, we got out of the snow and hit the road towards Colorado.

Better to be Safe than Sorry!

The original plan yesterday was to continue over the mountain passes and make delivery in Loveland last night, but the road conditions were just too dicey.

I made the decision to stop in Rifle, Colorado and tackle the mountain passes during the day instead.

As usual, it’s better to be safe than sorry, as you’ll see shortly.

This map shows today’s portion of the drive from Redlands, California to Loveland, Colorado:

After we made delivery in Loveland, we needed to deadhead to Akron, Colorado for our next load:

Cold Weather Questions

At the end of today’s journey, I’ll answer some questions from a viewer about dealing with cold weather out on the road.

So stay tuned to the end of today’s video for that!

Southeastern Colorado Plains

After picking up our pre-loaded trailer in Akron last night, we drove another 88 miles to the Flying J Travel Center in Limon, Colorado.

The next morning, I’ll have to deal with a flat tire and missing marker light on the trailer I hooked in Akron.
